Kindling splittr

Works as intended. I’ve put wood that’s a little too big for it and was able to hammer it through with no damage. Saves a lot of time.

This product sucks. Neither my 25 year old son nor my 21 year old son could produce a single split log, then I tried. Nothing. Won’t be splitting wood anytime soon

This model went as a christmas gift and is slightly different from the 1st model we bought - I'm pleased with the sturdy construction, and it frees the hands to make smaller kindling- get the taller hgt and larger diameter and mount a 24" 4x4 to the sides of both feet if your firewood is 18-20# so it can be fully split before it hits the ground. Our 1st was damaged in delivery (Forklift?) and we received a replacement . Don't hit the cast with your sledge or maul. pleased with the product- handsaver to make the kindling- and easy to prop the log against the rail.

I use my fire pit almost every night, and this makes cutting kindling super easy. I had some scrap 2x10 pieces so I made a base that I mounted it to with the supplied lag bolts. No reason to think it won't last for years.

I have never been able to use a ax to chop firewood without being out of breath and tired but with this i can chop about 8 logs without stopping

It works

We have a Solo Bonfire fire pit and this makes it super easy to create kindling to start our fires. IT works from whole logs to the smallest pieces. I'm talking down to pencil width pieces of wood. I use my 4lb sledge hammer with big pieces and a regular hammer for smaller pieces. It is very study and works as expected. I keep small, medium and large pieces of kindling in my solo stove. Having the wood already cut down makes it easier to get a good hot fire goingn spur of the moment. Once the fire is rolling, it doesn't matter if I put wet wood on because it all burns. This is much safer and definitely easier than trying to split wood with a hatchet.

It actually works well. I got the bigger one and happy that I did. I give it two thumbs up.

Easiest way to get kindling
Reviewed on Mar 17, 2023
I was skeptical this would work. To my surprise, it certainly does. I used wood that was just over a year old and a 4lb sledge. The wood didn't stand a chance. I usually run out of kindling about halfway through the season and have been using other methods to split wood, but none were as effective as this. I would recommend mounting the splitter to a sturdy table or bench. Doing this from the ground did nothing good for my back or my knees. Standing up would give better leverage and would be easier on your body. Well worth the investment.

Works great

So far it's been working great Of course it's only practical for 3" or smaller diameter wood since it takes a good amount of force to split harder woods but overall I'm satisfied I mounted it to a large log to make it easier to use
