I purchased this crane to use as a Davit crane in my shop. I built a 4' high mounting base and mounted the crane to it. I used the 12-volt winch that came with it and a 12-volt battery charger mounted to the base to power the winch. I priced Davit cranes from other big box stores, and they cost several thousand dollars. This works perfectly for my application.
