It is recommended to raise the tray to the highest point and rotate it clockwise to disassemble the pressure plate. The exhaust valve does not need to be disassembled and assembled and can be cleaned directly with the pressure plate.
This is a very good machine at any price. The stainless steel is heavy duty. It is best to use a clamp to keep it firmly on the table though as it does take some force to turn the crank.
The trick other trick is to find a way to get the last bit of sausage out of the machine and into the casing at the end of the run. Still thinking..
My first foray into sausage making and I was looking at more expensive brands. This stuffer looked identical and has the same features as many brands and with a more attractive price. We make our own sausage and have always used the stuffer tube on the grinder. The worst is when you try to stuff fine grind. I finally bought an actual stuffer and I kick myself for not buying one sooner. It speeds production considerably. This item was very reasonably priced and works well. It is also easy to clean.
New to sausage making and works just fine for us. We have stuffed almost 50 LBs of sausage and this stuffer really fills our need. Very easy to take apart and clean. All said this is what you need if you have a desire to make sausage.
Works great. Easy cleanup. I like how the unit breaks down for wash up. I got the 15lb unit. Perfect size for what I’m doing. But be aware, this unit won’t fit in most cabinets when not in use. Mine sits on top of the freezer with a trash bag over it.
