Sir
The door works great! I highly recommend. If you'd like to hook it up to solar, here's what you need from Amazon to do it. How to Solar Power the Door
Love the door. Had to figure out the solar hook up myself. So, here are the links to hook it up to solar. A fun project. The door is a game changer to our lifestyle. Totally worth it. Great product. Has lasted a month on 1 set of AA batteries. Would be nice to come with rain shield. Chickens have not had any issues with using it.

I really like this door
I have a bunch of automatic coop doors as I breed American Bresse chickens. I've tried about 15 different brands. There is a difference once you jump into the ones that cost several hundred dollars, but I have found that several of the more budget conscious models do very well. This is one of them. I currently have 2 of these. On one of my coops, the door is kind of hidden from the sun, so the light sensor doesn't function great. I have it set to open on light level and to close at a specific time. Works perfectly in that configuration. My other coop is set to open with the light sensor and close with the light sensor. It functions perfectly as well although it is exposed to the sun in a more direct manner. This door comes pretty much with everything you need to just mount and use it. It even comes with batteries and 2 small screwdrivers to help with getting batteries into the remote, etc. The remote feels very robust. It's heavy and solid. The instructions are clear enough and mounting is very straightforward. Programming is very logical once you find which buttons do what. I don't use the remote much, but I have had to on occasion, and it works just as expected. The batteries on the door last a long time and there is a battery level indicator, so you know when they are getting low. These things make owning chickens so much easier. Even if the battery dies one day and the chickens get stuck in the coop longer than normal, it's still a no brainer to use the automatic doors. I had another brand that will no close on its own and I still use it because it opens for the chickens in the early morning, and I just need to manually push a button to close it at night. Sometimes, something as small as this makes a huge difference. Several people have asked me which doors I use, and I have been recommending this one. I will update my review should anything change.

Better quality than expected!
This is a very nice automatic coop door. It has a very solid feel and comes with a better remote than my car. I found it very quick and easy to set up. I was able to figure out the programming without any instructions. It works as expected. I particularly like that it has a sensor and protects your chickens from getting caught in the door. It is a great peace of mind that I don’t have to rush home to make sure my chicken door is closed. We have a fox that has gotten a few of our chickens before. It’s a great piece of mind that my coop gets closed exactly when it’s supposed to despite my schedule. I also love that I don’t have to get dressed and rush outside on my days off too. It’s a great contraption! My only regret is not getting one sooner!

Auto Chicken door
Works like a charm, easy install and setup. Comes with a remote control so you can open and close any time you’d like without adjusting the time. Comes with batteries as well. We’re pleased with the product and Vevor in general!

Best chicken door
We have used it for a few weeks now. It was really easy to install and set up & seems hearty! Have used only with electrical power, and programmed to open/close at set times. These settings feel the most reliable for us but will maybe try the light sensor at some point. We used a different brand’s chicken door which lasted a year, then tried 2 different options from Amazon after that, which quickly failed, and I did not feel confident in finding anything reliable online. I was pleasantly surprised to come upon this one, as it didn’t come up in any other chicken door reviews and it’s also a reasonable price! Don’t drag your feet — it’s awesome!

Great chicken door. I have purchased more expensive doors in the past that weren't near as nice as this door

Great auto-door for coop - with IR and motion sensors
I've gone through several auto doors for our chicken coop. The first one was a roll-up garage door style and it worked for a couple months before it got bound up. It technically had a built-in \"pressure sensor\", but it was only a motor load sensor (meaning that if the motor loaded down too much it would think that the door was crushing a chicken. However, in practice that sensor prevented the door from closing because of dirt in side rails, and at the same time it wasn't sensitive enough to stop it from crushing a chicken. Anyway, I've gotten a few things from Vevor and while they aren't a \"Namebrand\", they are becoming a nambrand among the sea of offbrand companies and I've been moderately happy with their products so I decided to give this coop door a try. My main criteria for a door was that it needed to be battery powered and it needed to have an actual sensor to keep it from crushing a chicken. This door has both an IR sensor (that detects warmth) and a motion sensor. Each of the sensors has a dedicated LED indicator so that you can see when they detect something. I've been really quite impressed with how well it works to keep from closing on a chicken. It takes AA batteries but it does have a DC input plug if you have a power supply or a small solar panel to hook up to it. The structure itself is fairly lightweight and flexible and I wanted to attach it to the vinyl siding on our coop, so I put a couple of aluminum angles on the vertical rails to stiffen it up and help protect it from damage. Overall I'd give this a full 5 stars. While I've only had this for a couple of months, it's still going strong. If it starts acting up in the future, I'll plan on coming back to update this review.
