Q: Fence attachment, what is the purpose of the black attachment to the rip fence and do the numbers on the saw line up with and with out it. At the bottom to measure and cut it.
A: There are two rows of numbers on the ruler corresponding to the scale used alone and in combination. The use of additional baffles is not only a safety requirement, but also can cut thin plates.

The instructions to install the stand are horrid. I got a partial refund on the product and will use it without the stand, but the stand is why I chose this one. This is a great saw for a homeowner or hobbyist. It probably would not work very well in a commercial application. I like the fact that it comes with the collapsible stand that rolls away. This is my first table saw, so I am certainly no expert. The table saw seems well built and solid. There aren't a lot of parts, and I wish the instruction book had sentences and not just pictures. There are pages about safety, but nothing explaining each part or assembly. Now, certainly someone with zero experience with saws and the like probably shouldn't start with a random table saw, but as there are variances to each brand of any tool, this item too should be a bit more specific about its features. That being said, it comes fully assembled with just a guard and a guide needing to be put into place. There are also ways to attach a shop vac to reduce the mess, but my cheap shop vac doesn't have a compatible hose (duct tape here I come!). Power switch is easily accessible and extremely easy to power off. Blade tilts up to 45 degrees. Does not come with a stand. ...See more See less
