The 2nd day I got it. The stirring function started working whenever it wants to. It spins for a little while. Then it goes faster and then slower than nothing.

Nice solid unit, heater works fine, but the internal magnet driver spins so fast the stir bar loses contact and starts jumping out of control. I have tried different sizes of stir bars, but none of them can be contolled no matter how low the speed is set. So essentially it's useless as a magnetic stirrer.

Works well in general, good value for the price. One complaint is that the stirrer is rather finicky, needing a flat bottom flask to function correctly. Have a much older version of the same model, looks identical but stirrer works with Ball type canning jars, slightly convex bottom. The new SH-2 just flops the peanut off to the side and there it flops around ineffectively.

Works great Heats up and able to stir my mixtures. Well built and is half the cost from other websites for the same exact product.

I should have checked Vevor’s website first, because I could have got the hot plate for $112 instead of $179, that’s my fault. However, if something goes wrong with the plate, we all know Amazon returns are super easy.In my opinion, the magnet for the stir bar is weak, I will most likely have to upgrade them myself, not to big of a deal.Remember, without the probe plugged in, the temp read out is accurate for the surface of the hotplate, not what ever chemical you have in your glass/metal flask. If you dial the temp in at 150C, then the plate itself will stay at 150C, depending on your solution, you”ll most likely get thermal loss and have to go a bit over 150C on the plate to get your 150C in solution. The max temperature on the controls is 300C.With the probe plugged into the hotplate and the probe dropped in solution, this plate will only get a solution up to 100C. In fact, you’ll find that once you plug the probe in, the temperature control will not allow you to enter more than 100C. The plate itself will exceed 100C to get the solution to 100C if it has too.You can dial in the RPMs on the stir setting, it goes from 200 to 2000 RPMs, I like it, I keep notes on what I do, so this is something else to record when trying to achieve repeatable results.I have a fluke thermometer that works great, and the temp reads out within one degree of accuracy, seem like an awesome plate for the money, my only issue is the stirring magnets is weak.

Nice product that works great and fit my budget

My project budget is small, but I needed safe and effective equipment . I originally intended to get the 3-L stir plate which has a built in thermometer. However, this one does the trick! I do have a digital thermometer which attaches to easily to the support rod/stand. I especially like the separate control buttons for heat and stirring. Overall, I give it 4 stars. My only complaint: it temporarily stopped working - the power buttons didn't light up and the stirring rod remained motionless. But the heating unit worked (again, without the red button lighting up - potentially hazardous). It is possible that the equipment got jostled. Not knowing what to do, I set it aside. It works just fine now.

The stir function works great!

This instrument performs as advertised, and is dependable.
