ownerHow is the sloped
How is the sloped top of the cap removed for flue cleaning? There is no access to the 4 nuts which hold the sloped portion in place.

Good affordable Finished Product
I received my Chimney Cap in the specified time frame. When i opened it there was some scratching on multiple pieces, a couple missing screws and one of the holes didn’t line up quite right but they gave me a small credit for my trouble and i went to the local hardware store to pick up a couple more screws and had to drill one of the holes bigger to get it to line up. The instructions were not that informative but if you’re use to building things and you apply some common sense it’s fairly easy. You can attach it by setting it in new concrete with anchors or use the long machine screws on the bottom for a press fit like i did to the chimney flue. The metal is fairly thin but once you get it all together it is pretty sturdy. I purchased the 13X21 Size and the inside dimension on the bottom frame once assembled is true to that size. I put locktite on the threads so it doesn’t loosen up over time and added a few screws. It does take about a hour if you’re fairly handy to put this together with all the screws. All in all i am happy with this purchase because the final product came out good and it is more affordable than comparable ones I've seen out there but it does takes some elbow grease with 9 pieces that get assembled and about 30 machine screws with nut fasteners. If you think thats too much trouble just look for a preassembled Model but expect to pay more for that.

Could use a few more fasteners on the top but all in all great cap for the price.

Great price and great quality. Assembly instructions could have been better but both the installer and I were impressed with the quality.

Sharp edges, be careful during assembly not to get cut
I have two intakes for my chimeny top, about 12x 12 inches each located next to each other. Aka 25 x 25 ish inches, so I was short. After assembly the cover on the ground and once I got it up the ladder, came to find out find out it didn’t fit quite well. By losing the two corner screws on all four metal ends, I was able to pinch the middle short sections and shove them on each end.By hammering them intensively I was able to get the cage over and settle to the best of my ability but it looks fine and it won’t go anywhere.Measure your chimeny and call the company before ordering.

Shorted on Fasteners
I had already assembled this thing, and it takes quite a bit of nuts and screws to do that. I was shorted hardware fasteners and the sales people were not able to send additional fasteners so they recommended I buy my own. I did and this is what it cost. (Stainless Fasteners)

Assembly required
When all is said and done it appears to be alright. But let's back up....Box came very tattered and looked like it was sitting on a shelf for years. I don't remember anything saying assembly required but if you don't want your hands cut open you better have a good pair of gloves. There are very sharp edges and the whole thing needs to get screwed together before you can place it on the chimney. The instructions are a joke so don't even go there. After spending about 2 hours trying to figure out how it goes together I finally got it but of course one screw was missing (with about 20 extra that have no purpose). Looks like regular old sheet metal to me but only time will tell how it holds up.
