Temperature rises and quickly surpass the set temperature, but once you get an idea of how far it over shoots (usually ~14C over the set temperature before it stabilizes) or issue it exclusively under vacuum, it's great. That's said, don't set a temp you want and walk away until you know exactly how temperamental these are. All in all, a good unit for the price, but definitely doesn't compare to a higher quality $400 mantle.

Excellent unit. It heats, it stirs. Temperature overshoot and dwell are on par with most digital mantles. Not the worlds most powerful, but best value for the price, I've paid over 1000 for a Fisher, and it performs the same.

It’s sturdy and nice looking but the manual leave out A LOT of details and during use the digital display and heating stopped working but magnetic stirring stayed on. This mean it was a flaw internally and not just a blown fuse. I was about to send it back but I really wanted this to work so I ended up trying it again and everything worked perfectly. I would just hate it to go out again half way threw a distillation

very pleased with this mantel it holds constant temp very well. the temperature gauge is extremely helpful and accurate. seems to be well built. 2000ml boiling flask fits nice and snug. not having any issues with this product.

I have been using the 500ml heating mantle since February very frequently and it has been great. Really accurate temperature control and rarely over shoots set temperature. Honestly I can not notice the difference between it and the significantly more expensive brands I have!

Works great, shipped and arrived on time. Stirrer is strong and heat is accurate.
