Q: What is the most important thing to look for in a heat press? A: The most important thing to look for in a heat press is its ability to provide consistently even temperatures across the platen. One of the most frequent causes of misapplied transfers is cold spots in the platen. Cold spots occur when there is not enough heating element used in the manufacturing of the platen, or if there is a short or disconnect in the heating element within the platen. Q: What is a transfer made up of? A: A transfer is made up of a carrier paper and inks. When heated to a certain temperature and pressed with a significant amount of pressure for a certain amount of time, the transfer inks are passed over to the imprintable material. Some inks are adhered and embedded to the surface of the material, while others (namely, sublimation) permeate the coating of the material. Q: Do I have to do any type of maintenance or cleaning? A: Our heat presses have non-stick coated upper platens, it means they are easy to wipe clean if for some reason graphics are applied incorrectly.

It works great takes some getting used to learning how to set up the temperature and timing. But don't like the cup press. It was hard to lose the bolts up to fit the right cup in. . But the price was right .

It does what it says and was fairly easy to use... Instructions were a little hard to follow but I am new to the heat press game so that may be a factor. I guess I got a good deal.. it was cheaper than the brand that rhymes with cricket...
