Questions and Answers
Q: Is the 3/8 or 1/2 in better for cleaning out inside basement drain tiles? I have to make entry through the pipes that come into my sump pump and was thinking the 1/2 in might be too stiff to bend at the angle needed to feed it into the dain tile. I also know there have been some roots in one section of the drain tile, so I wasn't sure if the 3/8 in was strong enough to clean those out. Any advice is helpful to making a decision. Thank you. Paul
Answer This Question
A: 3/8 and 1/2 steel wire springs each have advantages. 3/8 has better flexibility and 1/2 has better hardness, which can be applied to different sewer specifications. You also need to pay attention to the specific number of bends. Generally, both 3/8 and 1/2 are suitable for sewer sizes of 50-100mm. The larger the diameter of the sewer pipe, the larger the spring size needs to be used.
