Can the water flow back to the pump when it is turned off?

Hello, yes, the water can flow back to the pump when the pump is off. (The water outlet of the normal water pump is higher than the pool or other water storage containers. After the pump is turned off, the water in the pool will not flow back into the deep well. A check valve is installed at the water outlet of the pump so that the water will not flow back to the deep well)

Bought to use a dock de-icer. Mounted to post at lake bottom and piped to spray around our dock. Added a thermostat to only run when under 33 and has worked great all winter in Norther Michigan
